Our designs are uniquely suited to each owner and each site. They vary in scale and character, ranging from informal summer cottages to substantial year-round homes. While we don’t have a bias towards a particular style, we aim for buildings that function and please, that last and don’t go out of fashion. They have in common a well-choreographed flow of traffic and space; skillful use of light, sun, and views; delight in details and craftsmanship; and use of native materials suited to the Maine climate.
Being responsive to our Maine environment and responsible about how we build has been part of our mantra since 1976. We are now LEED accredited. Recent projects use geothermal heat, active solar panels, and super-insulated concrete formwork (ICF).
