Maine is filled with beauty, and with beautiful things. I was born here and so was my aesthetic—a mix of old and new, antique and modern, local and from away. Like Maine, I want my homes to be original yet familiar and filled with memorable places you yearn to return to. As my Old Port boutique fills with holiday goods and I prepare to launch a new online store, I recharge from the pressures of work and motherhood in the late evening. Nestled in pillows and coddled in layers of flannels, quilts, and down, I browse websites, read books, write in my journals, or sketch. I look out my frosted windows only to find them reflecting a cozy, stylish retreat I recognize as my own. Suddenly, my life doesn’t feel like too much to handle. It feels abundant, and I am content. This is my room. I’m so happy here. Everyone should feel that way about their bedroom. My hand-quilted Fiore Quilt for Garnet Hill was a runaway best seller. Reintroduced in bold emerald tones, it is a welcome blast of midwinter color and an easy piece to transition in and out of the holidays, as is my Flying Point Barkcloth Bolster.
